Los colores de México
June 19, 2012 Comments Off
I originally come from Mexico from a French-Spanish family. I have lived a great part of my life changing countries and learning from new cultures always based on my own…
I was raised in Mexico learning to love colors, music and joy.
My mother taught me to enjoy the traditions and scents on the parks and the streets, to value the artisans and respect the culture. I believe that our life is a journey, and that every new person and place we get to know, enriches our perspective and widens our horizons. That’s why I learned to love design since I was a little kid. I loved the colors on the blown glass and Mexican candies, the typical dresses made by Indians with thousand of textures and patterns and the explosions of flavours and colors of its food…
We named this section Design journey because we wanted to share design as a trip, as a journal and an invitation to see design through culture. There is a lot of material since I have lived in 7 countries and I come from a “weird” mixed family.
I wanted to share this time the blown glass work of a client of mine…I love the way it reflects Mexico’s history and traditions…This country is about textures, scents, colors and volumes…The mixture of European and Latin blood and rituals…This is my vision of design and a piece of my culture through the blown glass. If you haven´t been to Mexico, I advice you to do it and take a journey on to colors and joy… Enrich your own design journey…
